In a small tight-knit black community there is a secret of a grieving girl, her boyfriend and her best friend. The story involves Nadia, Aubrey and Luke and " The mothers", opinionated churchgoers who gossip, reflecting on the state of the small town community. Nadia eventually leaves her hometown after the suicide of her mother, only to return years later for a family emergency. It is here that she finds loose threads that still need to be tied up.
